Recently, the 2025 training program on international exchange capacity building for Beijing-based national industry associations and chambers of commerce was successfully held in Daxing District, Beijing. The event was hosted by the Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. Leaders and heads of foreign affairs departments from 50 organizations, including the China General Chamber of Commerce, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and China Association for Pharmaceutical Equipment, participated in the program.
The training program aimed to implement the guiding principles of the Meeting on People-to-People Diplomacy of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and improve services for localized foreign affairs management. Tailored to the specific needs of participants, the training featured a well-curated curriculum that combined lectures and field visits, integrating policy interpretation, case studies, and practical sessions. The primary goal was to address the concerns of industry associations and chambers of commerce in strengthening their international engagement, thereby supporting China’s overall diplomacy, and contributing to the high-quality development of the capital.

The program focused on key topics such as high-standard opening up driven by institutional opening up, innovative approaches to audio-visual storytelling in contemporary international communication, and the procedures and requirements for applying for localized foreign affairs management. This will help participants to deepen understanding of international rules, enhance their global communication skills, and strengthen their awareness of compliance.

A pre-training survey on participants’ needs was conducted to tailor the Q&A session. The agenda featured field visits to the Daxing Biomedicine Base, International Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Zone, and Business Service Center. It also included presentations by leading enterprises in Daxing’s key sectors and in-depth exchanges with trainees for practical cooperation. By transcending the limitations of lecture-based learning, the program provided a more impactful training experience in an innovative way.
