The Beijing International Arbitration Night was held at the CP Centre in Chaoyang District recently, during which the operational platform of International Commercial Arbitration Centre (Beijing) (referred to as “ICAC Beijing”) was officially launched. He Rong, Minister of Justice, and Yin Yong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Beijing, were present.
The event featured a signing ceremony for partners of ICAC Beijing. Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice formalized cooperation agreements with Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Northeast Asia Legal Investigation Centre, and Beijing Retio Legal and Commercial Service Centre for the BRI respectively.
It is learned that Beijing has been promoting the development and functional system design of ICAC Beijing’s operational platform since July 2022. The 40th floor of the CP Centre’s North Tower has been designated as the premises for the platform, providing office spaces and professional services for resident institutions. The operational platform’s official launch fully reflects the success of Beijing’s “1 + N” development pattern, which centers on the platform while coordinating legal services aligned with each district’s industrial strengths. Going forward, the platform will fully leverage its functional advantages by gathering multiple dispute resolution institutions of mediation, arbitration and litigation, as well as legal service providers and pan-legal agencies such as lawyers, forensic identification agencies, notary offices, legal investigation centres and judicial accounting firms. Priority will be given to building four key brands, namely the “Grand Hall”, “Globally Shared Trial Centre”, “Full-Chain Commercial Dispute Resolution Mechanism”, and “Foreign-Related Legal Talent Practice and Training Base”, thereby providing one-stop, comprehensive and multi-option commercial dispute resolution services for business entities.
Also in attendance were Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law; Wang Shumei, Standing Member of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC)’s Adjudication Committee, and Justice of the Second Rank; Qin Yunbiao, Vice Mayor of Beijing and Director-General of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau; and Zeng Jin, Secretary General of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality.
