The 2024 CIFTIS Reception for Foreign Diplomatic Missions and Representative Officials of Countries and International Organizations was held in Beijing recently. It was announced during the event that the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) would be held from September 12 to 16.
Nearly 50 countries and international organizations, including France, Ireland, Japan, Australia, and Mexico, have expressed their intention to participate in this year’s event, themed “Global Services, Shared Prosperity”.
Foreign diplomatic envoys and representative officials at the reception
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China-France diplomatic ties, as well as the “China-France Year of Culture and Tourism”. France, as the guest of honor country at the 2024 CIFTIS, will set up its national pavilion and host a series of activities focusing on sports, healthcare, investment, and other service trade sectors. As a new international partner at CIFTIS, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) will have a stand to demonstrate the application of smart meteorological technologies and climate monitoring technologies in the world. It will also host the “International Summit on Meteorological Economy” to discuss the impacts of climate change on human health, thus aligning with the “National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy 2035” and the “Healthy China Initiative”.
At the reception
A wide range of government agencies, embassies and consulates in China, and international organizations have been invited to promote their development policies, competitive industries, and cooperation projects. Additionally, domestic and international industry organizations, business associations, and key enterprises will host activities such as presentations, demand releases, project matchmaking, agreement signing, and discussions to boost the import and export of high-quality services, as well as investment and cooperation. So far, seven promotional activities have been carried out for countries including the UK and Thailand. Renowned domestic and international enterprises such as Philips, Amazon, and General Electric have confirmed their participation. Moreover, nearly 100 symposiums and exchange events will be held by organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA).
