The Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) will be held in Beijing from October 17 to 18. Under the theme "High-quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Together for Common Development and Prosperity", Beijing is well-prepared in conference services, protocol, reception, city operation, landscape design, and volunteer services to deliver a forum that is smart, green, and cost-effective.
Accentuating elements of the "10th Anniversary" and "Chinese-style"
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, and the remarkable achievements of Belt and Road cooperation have become a source of national pride. As the capital of China, Beijing has made meticulous preparations for the upcoming BRF and incorporated elements that represent the "10th Anniversary of Belt and Road Cooperation" and "Chinese-style" into venue decoration and cityscape design, thus showcasing the openness, inclusiveness, and hospitality of this major country and its ancient capital.
At the China National Convention Center (CNCC), one can find the wooden sculpture commemorating the 10th anniversary of Belt and Road cooperation, which is composed of three major elements—the number "2023", the logo of the forum, and the abbreviation "BRF"—with designs that resemble major infrastructure projects such as highways and airports. The “highway” is designed into an arrow pointing to the sky, symbolizing the historic achievements made since the Belt and Road Initiative was proposed a decade ago while the design of an aircraft taking off at the airport represents a new starting point for Belt and Road cooperation at its 10th anniversary.

Elements of the forum and traditional Chinese culture have also been incorporated into urban landscape design. In total, over 10,000 lanterns, about 15,000 lamp post banners, 40 hard banners, around 800 bus shelter ads, 8 outdoor large-screen ads, 4 hardscape designs around the CNCC, 5 sets of themed flower parterres, and more than 13 million pots of flowers have been added to the venue, airports, and other key areas. During the forum, landscape lighting across the city will be turned on, as is done during major festivals, while 19 fountains will also be turned on at the Jinshui Bridge and the central area of the Olympic Park, among others.
