The "Hello, Beijing" cultural and tourism exchange event opened in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, on September 21, featuring a photography exhibition and a Chinese-Moroccan culinary exchange session. The event aims to help local people understand Beijing's historical and cultural heritage, its latest achievements in becoming a world tourist destination, and its unique charm.
The event is co-hosted by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Morocco, and organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, with the support of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and Centre Culturel de Chine à Rabat.
The photography exhibition showcases 80 outstanding works around five themes: the capital city, ancient charm, new look, people and culture, and ecology. These artistic snapshots of the Chinese capital offers the Moroccan viewers a glimpse into the beauty of Beijing's nature, history, people, and culture.
At the Chinese-Moroccan culinary exchange session, two senior chefs from Beijing were invited to showcase their skills alongside their local counterparts, presenting the famous Moroccan tajine and Beijing specialties such as copper hotpot, noodles with bean paste, and pea flour cake.
The Director-General of Cooperation Department of Ministry of Tourism, Air Transport, Craft & Social Economy in Morocco said that, through this event, he saw the charm and diversity of Beijing as a city that blends tradition and modernity. A Chinese culture scholar said: "The event reflects the deep friendship between Morocco and China. The photos on display are great and the famous Beijing dishes are delicious."
The Morocco session marks the final edition of the "Hello, Beijing" cultural and tourism exchange event, following earlier stops in Luanda, the capital of Angola, and Doha, the capital of Qatar.
