Yin Yong, Mayor of Beijing, met with a Danish business delegation led by Jeppe Kofod, former Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs and CEO of Kofod Global on the afternoon of March 11.
Yin emphasized China’s position as the world’s second-largest economy and a key driver of global economic growth. The country’s vast potential for sustained economic development provides a solid foundation and strong support to achieve the GDP growth target of around 5% set at this year’s Two Sessions. As the capital, Beijing boasts abundant resources in technological innovation and talent, and is home to a great number of high-end technology enterprises. Spearheaded by Zhongguancun, the city is moving faster towards becoming an international innovation center. Currently, China-Denmark relations maintain a sound momentum of growth, with fruitful cooperation across various fields. We are ready to strengthen communication with entrepreneurs, deepen pragmatic collaboration in technological innovation and other sectors, and facilitate two-way investment between more enterprises from both sides, thereby advancing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries for elevated mutual benefits. Beijing will continue to foster a market-oriented, law-based, and accessible business climate in keeping with international standards, delivering higher-quality services for enterprises in the city.
Kofod and other foreign entrepreneurs spoke highly of Beijing’s remarkable achievements in technological innovation and ecological conservation. As this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Denmark and China, they will seize this opportunity to further cooperation in technological innovation and green, low-carbon development, contributing to a new chapter of China-Denmark friendship.
