On February 24, Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) President and Senate President Hun Sen, and CPP Vice President and Prime Minister Hun Manet, met separately in Phnom Penh with Yin Li, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.
Yin conveyed best regards from General Secretary Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to Hun Sen and Hun Manet. He noted that, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Cambodia relations have set an example of equality and mutually beneficial cooperation between countries of different sizes. In the face of complex and evolving international landscape, China will further strengthen high-level exchanges and strategic dialogue with Cambodia, deepen exchanges on governance and development, and expand cooperation across various sectors. Together, the two countries will work to uphold regional peace and stability and promote economic prosperity. Beijing will play an active role in implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and inject new momentum into the building of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future through sub-national cooperation.
Hun Sen and Hun Manet asked Yin to relay their best wishes to General Secretary Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. They emphasized that, amid the shifting global landscape, Cambodia attaches great importance to consolidating its ironclad friendship with China and strengthening political trust between the two parties and countries. Cambodia remains firmly committed to its friendly policy toward China, resolutely supports China’s core interests, and seeks to intensify engagements across multiple fields, including inter-party relations, trade and economic ties, cultural exchanges, and sub-national cooperation. These efforts aim to jointly safeguard global peace and development.
At the invitation of the CPP, Yin led a CPC delegation on a visit to Cambodia from February 22 to 24. During the visit, he met with Chea Serey, Permanent Member of the CPP Central Committee and Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, as well as Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, and Prak Sophoan, Siem Reap Governor. He also laid a flower basket at the Statue of King Father Norodom Sihanouk, attended the “Hello, Beijing” cultural exchange event, and witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the cultural and tourism departments of Beijing and Siem Reap.
