The 15th Meeting of International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayor of Beijing was held online on the evening of November 18, at which 16 advisers offered their suggestions on Beijing's development, centering on such topics as "boosting high-quality development with high-standard opening-up and pursuing win-win cooperation", and "leveraging Beijing's strength as the 'Dual Olympic City' to build a world-class livable city". Yin Yong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor of Beijing presided over the meeting.
Yin Yong briefed the advisers on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and its key outcomes as well as Beijing's socio-economic development, noting that the 20th CPC National Congress is a meeting of great importance, which takes place at a critical time as the entire Party and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups embark on a new journey to build China into a modern socialist country in all respects and advance toward the Second Centenary Goal. He said that the report delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping drew up a strategic plan for building a modern socialist country in all respects and advancing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts, explicated the characteristics and essential requirements of Chinese modernization, and specified strategic missions and major measures of building a modern socialist country in all respects in the next five years. Over the past few years, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee, Beijing has fully and faithfully applied the new development philosophy on all fronts, kept to its strategic positioning as the capital, and implemented the new Master Plan of Development for Beijing (2016-2035). By enhancing reform and opening-up across the board, solid progress has been made in pursuing innovation-driven development, green development, high-quality development and people-centered development. As a result, the functions of the capital have been constantly improving, and new headway has been made in advancing high-quality development and making Beijing a more harmonious and livable city. The great city of Beijing has undergone a profound transformation. Yin Yong also mentioned the problems and challenges confronting Beijing, and hoped to get more insights and advanced international experience from exchanges with the international business leaders.
The advisers congratulated on the success of the 20th CPC National Congress and shared their suggestions on such areas as digital economy, "two zones", world-class business environment, sustainable urban development, resilient city, and urban renewal. Yin Yong had in-depth exchanges with them and responded to each of their suggestions. He said that he was greatly inspired by those insights as they were not only forward-looking and innovative but also practical and workable. He hoped that the advisers would continue to share their experience in global governance and corporate management, maintain communication and cooperation, and join hands with Beijing for fruitful win-win cooperation.
Vice Mayors Cui Shuqiang, Zhang Jiandong, Sui Zhenjiang, Yang Jinbai, Jin Wei and Tan Xuxiang, and the Secretary-General of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality Dai Binbin were present.
